What does = equals mean?




Today with our math buddy we were making stories that all equal either 100 or 1000.  
We used different equipment to represent our number stories...and different colours to show how we broke our big number apart.


Chelsea made sets of 50 using 5 counters to make a flower pattern.  Her and her buddy worked out how to add 50 +50+50+50=200


These are great stories for 1000..but you have to twist your neck to read them.
This one also facing the wrong way.


Excellent stories for 1,000...and you remembered boys to put your comma in your number!


Harri showed perseverance.

Aydan and his buddy used the unifix blocks to represent their stories to = 1,000.
