Bead Clocks

We made a bead clock.

We threaded groups of 5  together.  We made 12 sets of 5 beads to represent 60 minutes.

We know that there are 60 minutes in 1 hour!

We know how to count in 5's to 60.....5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60.

We drew around the outside of our bead clock.
We made little marks where each group of 5 finished.

We broke up our 60 minutes .....we showed what activities we could fit into an hour.
Samara used the unifix cubes to represent groups of 5 minutes.

Her first 60 minute story was:
10 minutes to brush her teeth + 10 minutes to dress for school + 15 minutes to eat her breakfast + 15 minutes to tidy her room + 5 minutes to play lego and 5 minutes to play on the trampoline.

SO her 1 hour story was:
10  + 10  + 15 + 15 +5 + 5 = 60 minutes altogether!

Well done Samara!
